The short answer is about 25 years. But in reality, a Toro Shelter should last much longer, take a look at this article "What is a Toro Shelter" for more information.
All Toro Shelters are designed, fabricated and installed to meet your unique operational and environmental requirements. Toro recently designed, fabricated, freighted and installed a vehicle maintenance workshop and offices into the Sahara Desert. The structure was designed to sustain 220 kph winds. For a more detailed explanation, have a look at this white paper which talks through the design process: Building Biomass Bulk Storage
A tensioned fabric structure from Toro Shelters consists of a weatherproof architectural fabric membrane pulled taught over a robust but lightweight steel frame. A more detailed explanation is given here: What is a Toro Shelter?.
Toro can design and supply mobile and crane lift-able structures; the product link is here: Mobile Fabric Shelters. However, all Toro Shelters are by their design, relocatable.
Toro Shelters are easily anchored-down. The mechanism will depend on the size of the building and the ground or foundation condition. Toro buildings are normally anchored with resin fixed studs, anchor bolts or ground anchors. Please feel free to call and speak to one of our engineers for more information.
Toro has built a large structure in the Sahara Desert designed to sustain winds up to 220km/h; there are also numerous other Toro Shelters spread across the Highlands of Scotland and Australia, design to sustain equally high wind and snow loads. Toro’s buildings are designed to endure their local climatic conditions, and have proven themselves through the test of time.
Toro Shelters are engineered to comply with Eurocode standards and will support the snow loads experienced in the region they have been designed for. Additionally, the slippery nature of the fabric covering also prevents a significant buildup of snow in most cases.
As most of the ‘building work’ is completed off-site, a Toro Shelter is incredibly fast to erect, a building that would normally take months is up in a couple of weeks. To design, fabricate and freight the buildings to a site will take several weeks and normally allows just enough time to complete any civils work that may need doing.
Toro Shelters are extremely cost-effective per square meter. However, the total price varies enormously depending on the clients' requirements for materials, size and environmental factors. Please get in touch to speak to one of our experts for a price. Contact Details.
